Women in Recent History –  Voices that lead the way

Moving beyond the barriers to lifetime achievement

Every year during the month of March we have an opportunity to honor Women in History. But why not every month? Many women are unsung heroes among us and they are making history as we speak. MEQ aims to honor women in recent history and new trailblazers in professional achievement. We also intend to dive a bit deeper into both personal and professional development, which go hand-in-hand in “success.”

MEQ is now in it’s 14th year of business and much knowledge and wisdom have been acquired. It’s my hope through story-telling, and passing down wisdom and shared experience, we can inspire future generations of women to pursue their passion work, and overcome the barriers to their success. We were never intended to operate solo on our journeys. Together, we can share hope and inspiration, and move forward one step at a time.

We look forward to meeting new women leaders who are transforming business and the way we live. We hope you will follow us on this journey!

MEQ Owner, Julie Gorham

Who qualifies as a Woman in Recent History?

Women in every industry, trade, and profession:

  • Who are setting new standards in their industry
  • Whose accomplishments are published and recognized by their organization, trade publications, their community, or media
  • Who are transforming organizations
  • Who are transforming operations
  • Whose body of work is most notable
  • Who have overcome obstacles on their path to achievement
  • Whose efforts improve society
  • Whose efforts improve how we do business
  • Who are leading regenerative and sustainable living
  • Who are the “first to achieve” in their industry

The goal of every article is to:

1. Demonstrate how barriers in our lives can challenge women to see and reach for new possibilities.

2. Identify one or more barriers that led to a major crossroad in their experience; detail the “why” behind the decision points, including outcomes.

3. Understand the personal challenges and impacts personally and professionally, and how growth through pain was achieved.

4. Illuminate the major accomplishment(s) and achievements.
